Description

Between the lighthouse and El Condesito, at a depth of just 18 meters, lies a fascinating little cave. Known as the “Cave of the Shark” (or “Cave of the Fox”), it was once home to a thresher shark. Today, a large thorny drum has taken its place, and the site remains an excellent introduction to cave diving, thanks to its two possible exits.

Photographers particularly value this dive for its dramatic backlighting. It’s a striking sight to watch trumpetfish, burritos, and catalufas filling the cave entrance, parting as divers pass through. Stingrays are also often found resting inside.

Because of the location, dives here require calm sea conditions, as currents can occasionally be medium to strong.
